Preparing for your Admission to Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic
We hope your stay will be as pleasant and comfortable as possible. To help prepare you for your hospital stay, we have listed some practical queries that you may have.
Prior to Your Admission
- You will receive a text message from us two days before your admission with your allocated arrival time.
- You will also receive a text message from our finance team with guidance on any payments that may be due, and a link to make this payment before arrival.
- Please ensure you have your health insurance details on hand on the day of your visit.
Fasting
You will receive guidance from your consultant regarding fasting. Generally, you must fast from food for 6 hours before your admission time, but you may drink water up until 2 hours before admission.

Medication
- Please bring a list of your current medications with you to the clinic.
- Only take medication that you have been advised to take by either your consultant or GP.
What to bring
- A small bag with essential items such as nightwear, a dressing gown, supportive footwear, and medications.
- Please do not bring any valuables.
- Towels are provided.
Jewellery and Nails
For your safety, please remove all jewellery, body piercings, and nail varnish or shellac from your hands and feet prior to your admission.
Arrival at the Hospital
Upon arrival, please check in at our main reception desk in the entrance lobby. Our colleagues will take your name and ask you to take a seat while the Admissions Team calls you to register.
Culture of Safety
At Hermitage Clinic, patient safety is our priority. You will be asked to identify yourself multiple times when receiving medication, undergoing tests or procedures, and even when being served meals to ensure accuracy in care delivery.

Walking Directions from Liffey Valley Bus Stop
- Take the footbridge to the opposite side of the road.
- Turn left and walk approximately 1km to a roundabout.
- The entrance to Hermitage Clinic is straight ahead.
Driving and Parking
EV Charging
Hermitage Clinic provides EV charging bays in the Public and Overflow Car Parks. Charging is available via the ePower EV Charging App, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Instructions are displayed on each charger. Costs to charge are aligned to the ESB rates and a 4-hour limit per session is requested.
Car Parking/Drop Off
On-site car parking is available however please note that this can be very busy during peak times. There is also a drop-off/set down area available at the hospital entrance if somebody is dropping you off only.

- Daily: €20.00
- Weekly: €40.00
- Patients parked for more than 8 hours: Maximum charge of €18.00
- Disabled parking: Free (please show your badge at reception to waive the fee)
Payment can be made via pay stations or at reception (cash, coins, or credit card accepted).

Our restaurant is located on the first floor, open 7 days a week, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

Newspapers and magazines are available for purchase.
Snacks & Drinks
Two vending machines on the ground floor provide snacks and drinks.
