Dr Ciara Scott Is a specialist in Orthodontics, with a special interest in: children with prominent front teeth, diagnosis and management of orthodontic problems in children in the developing dentition, children with missing, unerupted or impacted teeth, patients with multidisciplinary dental problems, promoting positive health through practice.
Dr Scott graduated from the University of Bristol in 1996 with Distinction in Child Dental Health and was awarded the George Fawn Prize. She completed a number of training posts in both the UK and Ireland before qualifying as a Specialist in Orthodontics in 2005 from TCD. She was awarded Fellowship of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons in 2005 and became an Examiner in 2009. Ciara completed a Postgraduate Diploma from RCSI Centre for Positive Psychology and Health in 2021 and focuses on supporting young people to develop positive health habits in her orthodontic practice. In 2016, she became the first Irish Orthodontist to be awarded the prestigious Membership of the European Board of Orthodontists. Ciara has extensive experience treating children and adolescents with the most complex orthodontic problems and working with them to achieve optimal outcomes. In addition to her clinical commitments, Ciara is the Honorary Editor of the Journal of the Irish Dental Association and was elected President of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland in 2022. Ciara was the Dublin Regional Winner of the 2017 Sensodyne Sensitive Dentist of the year. Qualifications: BDS U Bristol, MFD RCSI, MOrth RCSEdin, MDent Ch University Dublin, FFD RCSI, MSc RCS, Member EBO, FDS(Orth) RCSEdin, PG Diploma RCSI Centre for Positive Psychology and Health. She completed a Masters degree with RCSI in 2016 focused on improving patient centred outcomes for children with prominent from teeth.
