Dr Michael Carey is a highly qualified and experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with subspecialty expertise in Urogynaecology and Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery. He has a particular focus on managing female pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence.
Michael is dedicated to providing individualised and holistic treatment plans to enhance the quality of life for his patients. He believes in personalized, informed care and specialises in the surgical, mesh-free management of pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence in women.
Graduating with honours from University College Cork in 2011, Dr. Carey has since honed his expertise at leading hospitals both in Ireland and internationally. His commitment to excellence culminated in a three-year clinical fellowship in Urogynaecology and Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery, split between Cork University Maternity Hospital and Monash Health Hospital in Melbourne.
Dr. Carey's passion for advancing his field is reflected in his active engagement with research, resulting in numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has also contributed to the scientific community with presentations at international conferences, consistently advocating for quality improvement and patient safety.
The pinnacle of Dr. Carey's training was his intensive clinical fellowship, which focused on the surgical, mesh-free management of pelvic conditions.
