Mr. Howard Savage Jones is a Graduate of Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff. Training in Otolaryngology at Cambridge, Stoke Mandeville, London, Dublin and Zurich. Principal interests: Expansion conchomeatoplasty development in the treatment of recalcitrant otitis externa and keratosis obturans. BAHA fixture site skin reactions; development of the Tullamore Classification for treatment algorithms based upon fixture site temporal maturity, histology and surgical technique development. Development of TuLiD BAHA QoL assessment tool. Irish contributor to Oticon BAHA MIPS and Mono surgical procedure international pre production surgical trials group.
Fellowship in Otology, Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery at University Hospital, Zurich, Switzerland. Director Prof Ugo Fisch. The principal focus of this training targeted: Ossiculoplasty, Stapedotomy, Facial Nerve, Parotid and Infratemporal Fossa surgery in a department which pioneered these techniques and was a world referral centre.
