Mr Elkhwad is an Orthopaedic, Traumatology, and Spine surgeon with extensive experience in spine surgery.
He is a consultant at University Hospital Galway, bringing his expertise back to Ireland in 2022.
Having completed rigorous training at various University Hospitals in Ireland and obtaining prestigious fellowships from University Hospital Galway and Our Lady Children's Hospital, Crumlin, Mr Elkhwad is well-equipped to handle a wide range of spine pathologies, including degenerative conditions, adult deformity, trauma, tumours, and infections. He is highly skilled in utilizing advanced technologies in spine surgery and is an expert in minimally invasive spine procedures.

He is also passionate about quality improvement projects. Recently, he was involved in the Virtual Spine Clinic at University Hospital Galway, which was recognised as the best presentation at the Irish Spine Society meeting.
