Nessa Manley is Senior Occupational therapist in hand and upper limb trauma and Orthopaedics at the Hermitage clinic and works as a generic hand therapist combining the skills of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. She returned to studies as a mature student and graduated from the University of Exeter in 2009 with a Bsc in Occupational Therapy. She spent the first ten years of her career working in Orthopaedic and trauma hand therapy in an acute hospital setting before transferring in to Primary Care where she commenced/established a hand therapy service for the Network. In 2021 she took up a Senior Hand therapy post in the Hermitage Clinic. Nessa has gained extensive experience in the management and treatment of hand and upper limb conditions/injuries through her work in the public and private sector.
As part of her continued development, she has completed numerous accredited courses specific to the treatment of upper limb and continues to modify practice and improve clinical outcomes. She is a member of AOTI (Association of Occupational Therapist, Ireland), IAHT (Irish Association of Hand Therapy) and BAHT (British Association of Hand Therapy).
