Professor Higgins is a Consultant Dermatologist with a special interest in medical and cosmetic dermatology. Her clinical expertise in medical dermatology include acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis. Prof Higgins offers a wide range of cosmetic treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections, treatments for photo-aging, acne scarring and restoration of volume loss. Her cosmetic practice has a strong focus on rejuvenation and promotion of skin health with subtle and natural appearing results. She is regularly invited to speak at both Dermatology and GP conferences in Ireland and Internationally and has published book chapters and scientific articles in peer reviewed journals.
Professor Higgins graduated with honours from the National University of Ireland Galway in 2006, first in her class in medicine and was awarded gold medals in medicine, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynaecology. She undertook specialist training in Dermatology in Ireland and was awarded the O'Loughlin gold medal in Dermatology for first place in the national trainee exam. She then completed a senior clinical fellowship in medical dermatology and therapeutics at the world-renowned St John's Institute of Dermatology, London.
