Prof Walsh is a consultant cardiologist with an interest in electrophysiology, inherited cardiac conditions, and congenital cardiology. He has a keen interest in sports cardiology and risk assessment for arrhythmias. He has a keen interest in genetic medicine and inherited cardiac conditions.
Prof Walsh trained in Toronto and did his electrophysiology training in Cincinnati in the United States. After spending 6 years as a consultant in University Hospital Bristol, he returned to Dublin to take up a joint appointment in the Mater University Hospital and CHI Crumlin.
Prof Walsh has published extensively on ablation procedures focusing on outcomes and quality improvement. He has a keen interest in research relating to genetic medicine.
