Pharmacy Services at our Dublin and Galway Clinics

Our goal is to ensure that all medicines are procured, prescribed and prepared in the safest and most efficient way possible for our patients.

Clinical pharmacy

We offer a clinical pharmacy service to all inpatients across our three hospitals. This means that every patient staying with us has the chance to speak with a pharmacist about their medication

Our expert clinical pharmacists play a key role in monitoring patients and reviewing their prescriptions. One of the key priorities is patient safety and best clinical outcomes  when prescribing medication. Your clinical pharmacist will want to know what medication you may already be taking so they can check for any interactions.

Please bring with you your latest prescription or a list outlining your regular medicines so our pharmacists and other healthcare professionals can refer to it.

 We have a wide variety of clinical specialist pharmacists in areas like oncology, antibiotics and critical care who work closely with the multidisciplinary teams.  

The Hermitage Clinic now offer a take-home medicine service. 

Out Patient Pharmacy 

Blackrock  Clinic in addition to the above services also have a fully operational retail outpatient pharmacy which can dispense DPS (drug payment scheme), LTI (long-term illness scheme), HA (health amendment scheme)  and private prescriptions . Prescriptions can be sent electronically via Healthmail to blackrockclinicpharmacy@healthmail.ie

Blackrock Clinic also provides an 'extemporaneous compounding service' and welcomes prescriptions from external dermatologists.
